All these terms mean the same thing, but I prefer Doeflux and here’s why. | All these terms mean the same thing, but I prefer Doeflux and here’s why.
There is also the term ThilFlux but I don’t really know what the Thil part means so I’m not offering my opinion on it.
I don’t like GirlFlux because I’m not a girl. The name GirlFlux gives me the feeling that this sense of fluctuation is only secondary to being a girl. It feels like it’s tethered to the idea that I am a girl, which is just not true. | I don’t like GirlFlux because I’m not a girl. I also don’t like the term FaeFlux as I am a practicing Wiccan, and I do have a devotion to The Fae. I won’t go into detail on my beliefs because it isn’t important to the discussion, but it feels disrespectful to take the name of The Fae and say it’s my gender. To me at least saying “I’m a Wiccan and I identify FaeFlux” is similar to saying “I’m Catholic, and I identify as The Holy Spirit gender” even if the Holy Spirit has nothing to actually do with what that gender is. As an independent Wiccan, I interpret my religion as having 3 pillars, The God, The Goddess, and The Fae, along with the golden rule (which is basically the same across all religions) so similarly to the Father, The Son, And The Holy Spirit, it feels something taboo to take the name of The Fae and assign it as my gender. So I prefer Doeflux. It’s not tethered to a human gender, nor is it weird to say under my religion, of course I won’t get mad at the term FaeFlux, at the end of the day it’s just a group of letters that we assigned a meaning to, so I won’t spread any kind of hate to people who use the term FaeFlux. It’s not actually hurting anyone, and Wicca is a fairly unknown religion so someone may just not know about it. I know I went on a somewhat long rant on FaeFlux, but I don’t necessarily have a problem with it. I Just prefer the term doeflux over it. If you disagree feel free to respectfully comment what you’re opinion is! | I also don’t like the term FaeFlux as I am a practicing Wiccan, and I do have a devotion to The Fae.
