Neoboy is a gender with a connection to masculinity, but in a way that's largely different from how most boys/men are connected to masculinity. Neoboy is a non-binary identity that is mostly separate from being male, though it can be described as a gender that is masculine-aligned, neutral-aligned, mingender, and/or miaspec.

Individuals who identify with neoboy may identify with the term because:

    • They feel like a "new" kind or type of boy/man.
    • They feel like they're male and connected to masculinity (partially or entirely) but in a "different" way.
    • They feel like a boy, but outside of the gender binary.

Individuals who identify with neoboy will also generally feel neutral-aligned in some way or in some extent as well as being masculine-aligned but this isn't always the case.

    The feminine equivalent is neogirl.

    History

The terms neogirl and neoboy were coined by twitter user erikaispanlol in November of 2020, with the flags for them both being created the same day.[1]

    Flag

In the neoboy flag, the white represents for transition of gender and confusion of gender, cyan for masculinity, purple for every gender within the binary that isn't exclusively male or female, and with black representing every gender outside the binary.[2]
