Gemma Hickey
Gemma Marie Hickey is a Canadian activist and author. In 2015 they walked hundreds of kilometres across Newfoundland to raise awareness of and money for survivors of religious abuse. They are the founder of Pathways Foundation, which offers support to these survivors.[2]

In 2017, they became one of the first Canadians to receive an "X" sex marker on their birth certificate[3] and passport.[1]
They married Rebecca Rose in spring 2019 in a gender-neutral queer wedding ceremony.[4]
In late 2019 Gemma's memoir, Almost Feral, was published.[2]
