    Thu Nguyen is a community activist who was elected to the City Council of Worcester, Massachusetts in November 2021, becoming the first out nonbinary person to hold office in that state.[2] They are also the first Southeast Asian American elected to the Worcester City Council.[2]

    Nguyen's campaign platform included improving the public health system, improving the relationship between Worcester police and the community, governmental transparency and accountability, investing in the education system and renewable energy, and lowering property taxes for working-class families, among other issues.[3]
