Hello. Sorry, I don't have time to edit the article myself, but I thought I would mention that both India and Pakistan have enacted anti-discrimination legislation against transgender people, including non-binary people. The India one explicitly mentions "gender-queers". The Pakistan one defines gender identity as "male, female or a blend of both or neither". Information from these acts would be good to add to the article.

Overlap with Legal gender?
There seems like a big topic overlap between Gender recognition and legal gender. --TXJ (talk) 18:39, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
:TXJ good point, the main difference is that legal gender's UK section is much longer, but we already have Recognition (UK). I'll add it to my to-do list to merge the articles. Thanks! --Ondo (talk) 20:25, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
::Done! I've added a redirect from legal gender to here. --Ondo (talk) 14:32, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

Gender reassignment in Japan
Legal gender reassignment requirements in Japan may change significantly in the future.
In 2023, the Japanese Supreme Court ruled that the requirement of sterilization for legal gender reassignment is a violation of the Constitution. No decision has yet been made on the requirement to change the shape of the genitalia.

Since major changes are expected in the near future, the situation should be closely monitored and updated from time to time.
