  • In the USA, the states of Oregon and then California began to allow for a nonbinary legal gender, though getting this recognized on identity documents (driver's licenses and passports) is another matter. California began to allow nonbinary driver's licenses.[1]
  • In April, Merriam-Webster added cisgender, genderqueer, and Mx. to its unabridged dictionary.[2]
