    Avery Hellman is an American country singer-songwriter (stage name Ismay). Their debut album, Songs of Sonoma Mountain, came out in 2020. They also have a podcast, Where the World Begins, a series of narrative stories about Sonoma Mountain, meant to accompany the album.

    In addition to using the labels genderqueer and nonbinary, Avery has described themself as "a Cowbirl (a mix between a Cowboy and Cowgirl)".[3]
