Certaines personnes gerderfluid demandent à être appelées par un nom et des pronoms différents selon le sexe que they (ils/elles) ressentent à un moment donné. Pour les personnes qui basculent entre deux sexes seulement, cela peut signifier changer entre deux noms. Il peut s'agir de versions féminines et masculines du même nom (par exemple Leo/Leanne) ou des noms qui ne sonnent pas du tout similaires (par exemple Damian/Bella).
