AFAB (Assigned Female At Birth), also known as FAAB (Female Assigned At Birth) or DFAB (Designed Female At Birth) refers to people who were raised female in their culture. Many AFAB people have female genitalia, though they may have been born with ambiguous genitalia (which may or may not have been surgically altered to more closely resemble a vagina and vulva).
