They Call Me Mix/Me Llaman Maestre is a bilingual (English & Spanish) children's book published in 2018. It was written by kindergarten teacher Lourdes Rivas and illustrated by Breena Nunez. The book is based on Rivas' life as a nonbinary person of color.[1][2] "Maestre" is a Spanish non-normative gender-neutral word for "teacher".
