Brandy Fortson is a former member of the Corvallis, Oregon School Board, which made them "the first non-binary individual to hold public office in the state, and possibly the country."[1]
Their term would have lasted from 2019 to 2023, however Fortson resigned from the position in late 2019 after controversy and threats due to them tweeting "all cops are bastards" regarding an incident in Denton, Texas.[2]
