This page is about a gender identity that is not widely used among gender-variant people. This does not mean that the identity is not valid, but that very few people are known to use this term.

Genderliminal is a gender identity coined on August 16th, 2018 by tumblr user genderless-gibberish. It's a gender on the edge of existing and not existing (between gender and agender), or one that dances between the two.^[1]

The original flag proposed on August 17th, 2018 was a horizontal mirror image of the current flag, and was created by tumblr user nooonbinaryyyy.^[2] Tumblr user genderless-gibberish edited the flag later that day to its current version^[3] and the flag became official.^[4]
