Alterhuman is an opt-in umbrella term to describe people whose lived experience and identity is something other than what is typically considered "human". Some identities that can fall under the alterhuman umbrella include otherkin, therians, plural systems, and more. Alterhumans often find that they have a nonbinary or genderqueer experience of gender.
