The Society of Fa'afafine in American Samoa official logo created and designed by Ammon Fepuleai. 2014.

The fa'afafine are a subculture in Samoa who were assigned male at birth and identify as a third gender, dressing as women and having sex with men who regard themselves as "straight".[1] They do not like to be called "gay" or "homosexual", because they do not consider themselves men.
