Neogirl is a gender with a connection to femininity, but in a way that's largely different from how women are connected to femininity. Neogirl is a non-binary identity that is mostly separate from being a woman, though it can be described as a gender that is feminine-aligned, neutral-aligned, fingender, and/or fiaspec.

People may identify with Neogirl because:

    • They feel like a "new" kind or type of woman.
    • They feel like they're a woman and connected to femininity (partially or entirely) but in a "different" way.
    • They feel like a woman outside of the gender binary.

People who identify with neogirl will also generally feel neutral-aligned in some way or in some extent as well as being feminine-aligned but this isn't always the case.

    The masculine equivalent is neoboy.

    History[edit | edit source]

The terms neogirl and neoboy were coined by twitter user erikaispanlol in November of 2020, with the flags for them both being created the same day. @erikaispanlol (18 November 2020). "my friends told me to do this, sooo i made a funny gender (two, actually) and theyre named Neogirl and Neoboy (fucking gay names but i couldnt think of anything else ae) (explanation below, it's kinda hard for me to explain it in a concise manner)" – via Twitter.

    Flag[edit | edit source]

In the neogirl flag, the white represents for transition of gender and confusion of gender, pink for femininity, purple for every gender within the binary that isn't exclusively male or female, and with black representing every gender outside the binary.[1]

An alternate neogirl flag was created by FANDOM user IAmArtemisTheCat on January 1st, 2022.[2] It was based on the original colors of the neogirl flag, but not necessarily the color meanings. Dark Gray: being whole as their gender. Purple: not quite being what a "girl" normally is. Pink: a connection towards "girl". Orange/Peach/Yellow: being abinary, midbinary, and/or midabinary. White: possible connection towards neutral. Orange/Peach/Yellow: possible connection towards outherine and/or other genders. Pink: possible connection towards feminine. Purple: possible connection towards masculine. Dark Gray: possible connection towards agenrine, gendervoid, and similar terms. The flag was not supposed to look like the neofeminine flag.
