Talk:Bottom surgery

    Retitle article?[edit source]

Should we retitle this article from "bottom surgery" to "lower surgery"? I've seen the latter term in use, recently, and I'm just of the opinion that it's a better name. -Sekhet (talk) 04:21, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

I like "lower surgery" better too, but I can't think of a compelling reason to change it. They both seem like ok terms that are in use. Even if we don't rename, we should probably still update the intro paragraph with "lower surgery" included as well. Falkirks (talk) 14:22, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
I agree that both terms should be included in the introduction, and we should create redirections too. As for the name of the main article, I would leave it as bottom surgery (I had never heard the expression lower surgery before). --Ondo (talk) 18:08, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

More types of non-conventional bottom surgery![edit source]

I wanted to mention a few other options that I know to exist:

Phalloplasty without removal of vagina is also possible, and it can include scrotoplasty too. Metodoioplasty can also be performed without removal of vagina and can still include scrotoplasty.

I know of one example of the first, who has posted online about it. I know someone who did the second but was not comfortable posting it online, so I only have seen private photos.

These can be options for trans men or for nonbinary people born with a vagina.
