Eureka O'Hara is an American drag queen and musician, known for competing on the ninth and tenth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race.

    Music[edit | edit source]

In April 2017, O'Hara and Adam Barta premiered a single and music video for "Body Positivity", which features Kandy Muse (who is known for being in the Haus of Aja).[3][4] The video features cameo appearances by RuPaul's Drag Race contestants Charlie Hides and Cynthia Lee Fontaine, as well as reality television personality Farrah Abraham.[5] "Body Positivity (part ii: Electropoint)" was released in March 2018.[5]

O'Hara released their first solo single, "Stomp", on April 28, 2017.[6] They released their second solo single, "The Big Girl", on June 28, 2018.[7][8]

As part of the final challenge of season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race, O'Hara and the other top four contestants wrote and recorded their own verses for RuPaul's song "American". The song reached number 12 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart.[9] In November 2018, VELO released the single "Where My Man At", featuring O'Hara and Drag Race season three runner-up Manila Luzon.[10] The two also appear in the song's music video, together with Thorgy Thor, Ginger Minj, and Trinity Taylor.[11]

Gender and orientation[edit | edit source]

Eureka lived as a trans woman for nearly five years starting from when they were 19 and had a boyfriend who was supportive of their feminine side. However, the couple broke up when Eureka realized the boyfriend was abusive. This led Eureka to have "a year of self-discovery" and determine that "I did not feel like a man, and I did not feel like a woman." Since then, Eureka is living as an out and proud gender neutral person.[12]

In a 2019 interview, Eureka shared that they are "pansexual or demisexual", stating that "If I connect with someone and there's that energy there, then I can find myself being sexually attracted to a person regardless if they're male, female, trans, anything."[13]
