    性别中立，或称中立性别，是非二元和跨性别伞下的一个身份。性别中立的个体拥有中性的性别身份或表达, 或者认同偏好性别中立语言和代词。这与无性别，无性，或没有性别认同类似，而且经常与其体验重叠。Neutrois身份一般被描述为是一个中立性别身份。

    除了作为一个非二元身份之外，“性别中立”也经常被用作形容词，指“不考虑性别”/“包容任何性别”；比如说，“Alex是一个性别中立的名字”，或者“我们有一间性别中立卫生间”。


    词源

    英语中，“neutral”这个词来自中古法语的neutral（相较于现代法语 neutre），而其来自拉丁语的 neutralis。在战争与争端中，中立可以表示在冲突中不选择其中任何一方，而是无阵营或无偏袒的。在色彩中，中性指灰色或者没有明显的颜色。在物理学中，中性可以指既不带正电荷也不带负电荷。在生物学中，中性可以表示neuter，指没有身体性征。在语法中，可以表示既非阳性也非阴性的词汇，也叫做neuter或者epicene。性别中立可以表示适用于或可用于所有性别，或者不受性别限制。
